Selling a Car

I decided to sell the car i brought for my son to learn to drive in, Advertised it on Facebook marketplace and other sites, Now this is where this begins to start to sound like a racist chant but honestly its not, it is just what happened. I was inundated with replies from eastern Europeans nearly all Romanian, All start with "Best Price" Then move onto to "I come now with xxx" a lower figure. Then get all shirty when you say no, To be honest its been a pain in the arse. Mind i did tell one bloke to come over when he offered a stupid amount. He replied "So you accept" No i said " i just want to see your face when i tell you to fcuk off when you get here" Another asked if its a 7 seater, its a poxy Vauxhall Agila Lol My reply was "The 7 Dwarfs would fit in comfortably"  Eventually a young lad from Walsall came and looked at it. I nearly just gave it him so i could remove the sales post from Facebook.

I can't handle time wasting  telephone calls,tyre kickers and wankers. I'd rather gift things to people I know, than be bothered with the aggro. Chancers often just want to suss out your house and yard security.

A mate of my eldest lad has been doing scrap for years, He is looking at packing it in due to them stalking his Facebook account and nicking all the stuff put out for him. He has half a dozen kids and says he was earning a grand odd a week more than enough to keep him, His Mrs and kids now he's lucky to make £500,  take his diesel and van costs off and he says he would be better off on benefits.

When I was in the Middle East, I was selling a washing machine for a pal who had left.

It was almost new, one of those big American GE jobs and he only wanted sr 300 for it, about £50.

Anyway, a Pakistani woman turned up and offered sr 200, I said no, I want sr 400 for it !

She said but you advertised it for sr 300; I said yes, that's correct, so why are you insulting me by offering less ?

She looked at me like I was crazy and left.

An American turned up, took one look and gave me the asking price !

I hate selling stuff , I'm generally selling because I don't want it or its crap or surplus. So if people are honest and not haggling they have it for a good price ....

Same with selling anything messer beggers an time waster , you could put car up for free an full tank of fuel an some one will ask if can drop it off an put new tyres on an give it a wash

Few months ago I did a job for a bloke and he paid me with a 2005 focus, I put it up for sale for a few hundred quid on gumtree, the amount of idiots that messaged me was ridiculous, one asked to come and see it and travelled 70 miles to get to me, after 45 minutes of trying to give me 150 quid for it and becoming quite threatening I lost my sh*t with him and told him the price had gone up a hundred quid and if he wasn’t paying that for it he’d better fu*k off back to where him and his little mate came from, it bothers me that the way they behave a lot of people will be intimidated by them, in the end I had a local young lad and lass come round who’s car had been stolen, he offered me £300 for it, I gave him it for £100 to cover my costs of the job, I don’t bother much with the cars now because the people you have to deal with are just a headache

Ebay back in its day was tidy, it worked but I have not used it since I retired and I hear it’s not very good now.

I used to like buying an selling stuff when I was younger and had a low income people seemed more genuine then when they asked to come an have a look they’d come with some money an politely ask if you’d except any bids on the item now they just play about an waist your time. A couple of weeks ago my misses put 2x little oak coffee tables that we had by each end of our sofa on a fb sale group we asked £30 the pair they weren’t no cheap shit to buy they we’re pretty expensive we only had them a year they were mint the amount of pms asking if there still for sale an they’re coming now to collect now had us waiting about for no shows like right bellends the last woman was a Pakistani woman she took the piss she had my misses taking loads of different pictures at all angles of them said she’d definitely have them then asked us to deliver them and asked if we’d take £8 each for them my misses told me so I got on her phone an pm the lady an said sorry no longer for sale i said to my misses look at it like this about 5 hours lost time dealing an waiting about for dickheads to not show that’s lest than minimum wage…..I cut them down and put them through the log burner

I try and only deal with family and close friends these days if buying or selling....if it dont eat and drink,Id rather put it away than have to deal with the general public ...the older I get,the less I need nor want to be around certain types...lifes just to short to waste the time
