WILF 47,171
Whitney is obviously the GOAT in her genre, no doubt about it but there’s a million Whitney impersonators and wanna be’s all doing the same genre. Personally, I don’t think you can beat an English girl when you find one with a good voice….. Edited October 3, 2023 by WILF

Micks voice is like it was 40 years ago, but lady.Gaga steals the show for me No,hadn’t heard it but I will listen to it,my missus said let’s go to the cinema to watch a movie “A star is born” I didn’t really want to go but sitting there listening to Gaga I was blown away by her talent. 39 minutes ago, greg64 said: the real deal Diva Saw her live early 1990’s in Hong Kong, fantastic performance,I had a front row seat,I didn’t realise she had a huge gay following who had also bought front row seats to be close to their Diva.

NEWKID 27,182
I wonder what Amy Whinehouse would've of achieved if she'd of lived, only 27 when she died and still considered one of the best... unique voice and talent for sure

I think someone said Alison Moyet further back in the thread and I think thats a very good shout, a very ordinary girl from Basildon opens her mouth and that comes out….fantastic. I think peoples mind automatically gos to Americans when the word “diva” is mentioned in the context of singers but I think our home grown girls are unique and as good as any in the world. English singers can “do” American but you won’t find an American who can do Alison Moyet or anyone like her imho

Gaga makes it though for me...fair play to Mick though, what eighty odd and singing like he did at 30! Edited October 3, 2023 by NEWKID
NEWKID 27,182
PP Arnold .. she has a beautiful voice, her version of first cut is the deepest is streets ahead of Rod Stewart for me.. She sang a few songs with Ocean Coloyr Scene, mid 90s, I saw her singing with them and supporting them back then, faultless
