HW45 pellet choice

Just picked up new HW45. Mostly for rats and squirrels in cage traps, anyone else use the same. ?  and what's your preferred. 22 pellet.? I'm using RWS at the minute and the pistol seems to like them

I haven't used this for years but always used Wasps, simply because that was what I used in my Airsporter S and later Webley Omega at the time. Capable of clean kills on rats anywhere upper body (but always had a terrier in attendance) and clean kills on close range rabbit with a head shot (but always had a terrier close by). I would not use it on live quarry these days, no longer have the required skills.

My buddy has an SMK something or other pcp pistol, which has already taken a number of rats, squirrels and rabbits but all at 10mt which is a set distance from his office window to the boundary and he uses JSB Exact RS which are the lightest pellet in their range and does a perfect job.  Give them a try.

Up close in cage traps, anything will do the job.

 

If you want some range, go for lighter pellets like Falcon Accuracy Plus or JSB RS.
