Chaff 3,621
Ban on wood burners threatens British boat-dwellers with winter freeze | Fuel poverty | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM A new law allows British councils to impose on-the-spot fines for emitting smoke Bollox to that lol

Jonjon79 13,358
They're scum! - they don't like folk having anything that they don't have to pay for. They'll only ban it until they can figure out a way of taxing people for it. Can't a lot of people move their boat to the other side of the canal and cover the name so that it's out of reach of the council scumbags?

Most hire boats don’t have a fire on them due to the risks involved, I use my wood burner over my heating A because it’s free and B because it keeps moisture at bay, boats that rely on heating alone tend to be dripping in condensation

I think a bag of smokeless coal left on roof at all times and then burn wood It's not like you're going to invite anyone that challenges you on board lol. As GM said I have lived in a supposed no smoke zone and always burnt through the winter All this environmental net zero is bollox anyway the demand for solar panels and windmills is putting such a demand on China that they are having to build 3 coal fired power stations a week spewing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere anyway. It's just another money making narrative fed to the plebs by rich elites shocking really.
