Don’t waste time with glue or stitches, take it to the vet and get the stopper off it’ll never heal properly. And a bit of advice for the future stop running dogs on hard ground

I’m booked in with Paul Evans on Monday. And as for hard you just can’t assume it was hard ground pal the ground was wet as anything it was a plough field?  Am not that stupid to run this early on the season to be hitting hard ground

It will heal, but you’re looking at a few weeks rather than days. The joys of running dogs in September

If you feel confident, snip off the loose bit, give it a thorough clean, keep it clean and let nature take its course until it's healed. If you're not confident, see a vet and be prepared to be r

Thanks for the comments, I just cut it off, bled a good bit but some wound powder soon dried it up looks bang on now.

It’s September, you had a cut pad last weekend and a torn stopper this weekend you’re either terribly unlucky or you’re running on ground that’s too hard for the dog

Your call mate just a bit of decent advice that might save you a few injuries in the future, but you seem to have already made your mind up that it’s the dogs fault not yours

Yeah mines like that cant lamp him without damaging him, dewclaws every other time. Decided go through a fence last week on lamp instead of over only just noticed the cut from that on his head through his coat.

Never had this before, had a run through horses dog was never going get on terms with it due to horses stampeding. A horse killed the rabbit he was running 😆 only catch of the night!

Mine has healed pretty good now since I sniped the flap off…. Thing’s just get worse with this dog very injury prone, was out last night ripped half of its stopper pad off, the ground was wet as anything so I think she’s caught it on barbed wire jumping over a fence. Glued it twice because of we’re it is still seems to be opening

The grounds way too hard we've only had one decent nights worth of rain and following day in a couple of months. Ground will of done away with that already lol. They'll be no ground surface round here soft enough to run a dog on yet. Won't be so bad on grazing fields that's been left. But stubble or turned ground is a no no

My pal lives in Middlesbrough Was saying that week we had the thunder that his road was flooded with flash floods. Just shows you only a stone throw away down A1 and not had much weather. Which am not complaining because a need birds to moult out right before bad weather comes in. Another fortnight should be done
