Had a gut full of ale and came home to sort the dogs out before they arrived home, anyway i must have left his kennel door open, when they arrived home he was sat at the top of the stairs, i was asleep in bed, the next morning i woke up and i was in bed on my own, i came down stairs and the Mrs 2 kids and 2 family members were asleep in the living room on the furniture and floor, by all accounts he was not letting any of them up the stairs that night Lol

chartpolski 23,605
Just now, mC HULL said: you’ve lost me lol “Each to their own”- we're all different with different ideas and philosophies. ”Mine is not to reason why”- I don’t need to justify why my point of view is different to anyone else’s. We all have opinions, rightly or wrongly, but I can respect other’s opinions without agreeing with them . And there endeth the lesson ! LOL ! Cheers.

Lol. 1

Same as mate I remember when Martin Mcdonagh sent his young lad up my mates back garden and took his two lurchers and a springer a copper who lived next door but one saw the young lad and the dogs went with him and the copper thought my mate had got a young lad to walk his dogs wile he was at work and never thought to confront him stealing the dogs. Thankfully it turned into a happy ending as we got the dogs back.

saluki bouy 698
My current one wouldn’t happily jump in a motor unless it was the missis or my best pal but if they followed him back into the kennel put a lead of him he’d go cocker patterdale I’ve got would go into any open door of a motor but wouldn’t let anyone come between her and either of the kids in the house my first saluki x bitch could be a dick with strangers which I didn’t mind except she slept at the bottom of the bed and during my late teens early twenty’s wasn’t ideal even when lady’s were prewarned that it wasn’t my mum in the morning it was the dog when we got in that we had to share a single bed with
downsouth 7,286
Not one of my black terriers,bull/greyhounds or spaniels that Ive owned over the years would bark up/guard at a stranger let alone bite someone.I had one lurcher that would avoid people if loose but if in the pen you could still grab her safely and all the others would come straight to the gate if you had a lead in your hand. And barking still isnt a lot of cop if nobody about to hear it.Its surprising how many people think they have a guard dog just because it will bark a bit without realising 90% of dogs even guardian breeds will back down if you stand your ground,Stomp at them or wave a stick at them.Yeah an oppertunist little smackhead might run from a barking dog but anyone whos half confident around a dog can front it up especially if its still behind a fence or in a pen and make it back down or go and lay on its bed if it hasnt experienced someone standing up to it.Thats where training comes in useful as you first build confidence in a youngster and then slowly Apple more and more pressure once it has confidence in itself whilst regarding once it comes through the pressure. No different than schooling any other young working dog.
Chaff 3,621
Mine would never bark while kennaled any one walked up garden path you could hear his tail wagging and hitting bars on kennel . Anyone that opened door and put lead on he would have gone with easily. When he moved in to house he started to bark at people coming to door just a little to let you know I could tell him hush and he would.i think he picked up on our body language of looking out window and saying who the f##ks this coming to door
Mito1223 20
If someone broke into my place, the lurcher would help um look and jump in the car with them after.
