That's it... I'm out of here!!

I'm pretty easy going and tolerant about most things ,but every time I see one of those big fat ugly useless earless bags of shite towing a skinny scruffy trackie wearing waste of space and his tattoo

Here's the common sense approach i.m.o... XL bullies added to the existing DDA. Making it illegal to breed and sell so, in theory no other dogs being added to the existing population. A

Don't think I've ever seen a darkie with a bully TBH, mostly chavvy white council estate types with them round my way at least.

Seen a lad on my street with a huge presa , cropped ears and all that off the lead, I commented 'big dog' or something and was told how good it was with kids and how it was scared of cats etc , his parting comment was he'd only had it a day from a rescue......

I’ve never been in favour of banning things, as it usually doesn’t have the intended effect.

Just look at the hunting ban; the vast majority of people thought it was about protecting foxes and getting one over on the “rich Tory’s in red  coats”, but it affected everyone with a hunting dog.

Or the handgun ban, the only people it affected were the GB pistol shooting teams, the wrong’uns never held these guns legally anyway !

But I’m a bit swayed towards banning these dogs…..there’s a few round my way and most are untrained and out of control and most disturbingly seem to be dragging women or kids around on the end of the lead !

I stand by my view that it’s not the dogs fault, it’s the owners, but if there’s a few more horrific incidents concerning these “bully’s”, the government WILL over react and it will affect ALL dog owners !

Cheers.

One of the causes of the problems with these bullys is that stupid "deed not breed, no bad dogs just bad owners" shit IMO. Fecking fur mummies and their "pibbles" have got a lot to answer for. We didn't have these problems when the only people who had dogs like this were folk who knew what they had and what they're capable of.

I mean that I see a lot of dogs without any basic training or socialising.
I draw a distinction between working dogs and pets.
Of course there’s bad dogs, and some of the top coursing dogs I’ve seen could be described as “manny”, but weren’t walked around the streets by the owners kids !

So let’s not get working dogs, owned, in general, by experienced people, confused or equated with this months “fad” dogs, whose owners see them only as a status symbol and put no effort into them whatsoever.

Cheers.

Sorry but that's wrong; these dogs are not mentally stable due to genetic make up. Whenever pit bull and mastiff together you're risking a bomb. No matter how much socialising or training it'll be irrelevant if the dogs unstable.

It's clear it's the make up rather than the owners; the same people that own these xls often own both pockets and standards without an issue

I think there are plenty of psychotic dogs and that these psychotic dogs appear more often in certain breeds. Inadequate, vulnerable people are attracted to these breeds because they offer status and protection.

Solutions? Compulsory muzzling of all dogs in public and compulsory insurance for dog owners. Premiums would obviously depend on breed and weight.

I have spoken. End of discussion.

So if a dog gets out and runs amok because the owner hasn’t secured it in a secure pen or kennel it’s the dogs fault ?

If a dog slips it’s lead and runs amok because the owner hasn’t got it on a decent collar and lead, it’s the dogs fault ?

To take your argument to “reducto absudum”, if a lion escapes from a zoo and kills someone, is it the lions fault ? Or the keepers ?

Im not saying and have never said “there’s no bad dogs” as that’s absurd , what I’m saying is if people insist in keeping dogs that may be deemed dangerous, then it’s their responsibility to keep it under control, which, sadly, a lot of the people owning these dogs seem incapable of doing !

Cheers.
