chartpolski 23,103
The consensus on TV this morning amongst pundits and politicians is licensing . That will only punish the vast majority of dog owners, the idiots won’t bother with a license anyway ! One bloke interviewed said all dog owners should undergo a two week compulsory dog training course ! The government will f**k it up as usual and the innocent will suffer. Cheers.

I also believe that one of the conditions of owning this type of dog should be an home visit that the owner should pay for to make sure the dog is kept in a secure garden and environment the same as owning firearms.

They were talking about ALL dogs, not just xl bully’s ! If there must be some legislation against owning these dogs, it’s already there, The Dangerous Dogs Act. Just add this “breed” to the list. People will say “ how do you know it’s an xl bully ?” Well, dna test the ones that are out there now and build a dna data base and take the dna of any dog suspected of being an xl bully……..don’t punish responsible dog owners ! Cheers.

paulus 26
If its brought as an XL bully then as far as i am concerned its an XL bully. Simple as. This subject is as much about people suitability to own dogs as much as the breeds themselves. People feel they need to own certain types of dogs for all sorts of reasons, Most do have a legitimate reason but in the case of the XL bully i fail to see the reason. But again that's just me and other opinions will differ. This subject is never going to be correctly addressed by the government, all they will do is what they feel will appease the public the quickest, without causing outrage. I agree, if it's advertised as, and sold as, an xl bully, then they could be DNA tested and a data base built. Cheers.
THE STIFFMEISTER 15,677
Two things . 1 ) I always thought xl bully’s are like a Poundland pit bull type thing bred to placate a perverse “fighting man , fighting dog “ type fetish amongst the strawberry’s of the uk populace , but as I’m sure as already stated , any put bull terrier hybrid is illegal anyway , so they haven’t a leg to stand on. 2) most of these owners idea I’d a hard dog is the duty pulling of a chain at an Alsatian across the street or a 20 sec roll against another fat xl at the park when the owners are dragged towards them . I always say that I’d you’ve seen a pit bull terrier taking apart another living thing , you’d have to be mental to have one in the house . Why would you want something with that capability in its arsenal . I recently explained to a lad last week that dogos are banned , but here never been a uk death accounted to it , he couldn’t grasp it . How unfair was the cry . Poor dogs . Then I showed him one taking it to a boar in oz , his face couldn’t comprehend how a canine can do that , that it just didn’t bark or growl . These people , I’d gladly throw them and their fat shitting machines into the sea with a smile
