The Rough Haired Whippet by: Christine Cormany How the little rough-haired member of this...

Interesting read this 👍

I had the privilege in 1980 to be in the company of an old boy who used to organise live rabbit contests in Parkgate in Rotherham in the 1920s and up to the war and said most of the dogs in these contests were hard coated he called them he mentioned Irish terrier blood. He still had a whippet when I met him at nearly 80.

Good low key little pot filler only after 3 or 4 for the pot and I think any whippet regardless of breeding will deliver that.

I dont think I could handle the yapping at race meetings from what I've seen and heard 😅

All the old boys i met has a kid if you showed an interest in their dogs and you were polite always gave you the time of day when you asked about their dog's.

Them.days a dig was a day out for the whole village ,a few maidens likely got betrothed on them outings I.expect simpler times

Think it was Lucas's book that mentioned you'd need a few maidens in the tent wagon for when things went quiet, halcyon days 😁
