Hopefully.

I had a 17tts whippet bitch from racing stock 30 odd years ago. She was the best rabbiting dog I ever had. I remember a day on the moors I had with her when  she killed 13 adult daylight rabbits and countless young uns.

I used to believe the only whippets worth having were the big well made 22tts ones, then someone pointed out to me that the smaller ones are faster, turn better, that bit sharper for ferreting, working small fields hedgerows, etc. compact fast little dogs, mine is 19tts and I find she is plenty big enough.

I will personally give anyone 10, 000 pounds Stirling, if they they could beat a pedigree whippet over 50, 100, 150 or 200 yards.

People talk silly about the difference in speed of non ped and ped whippets.

a dog only has to be fast enough to get on terms, a good dog knows when to put it on and when to take it off, some super fast dogs never learn and for all that pace it's wasted.

True that they tend bend far to wide lack stamina n pick up more injuries

Give me just enough speed with that extra stamina and a gear box any day..
