The twin coronet is an old one I made over ten year ago, good stick for up on the heather moors, the other one's going to be a hazel knob stick when I get a chance to shape it

I make the odd knob stick from rowan saplings , and I use the root ball as the knob.

Same as the Ash knob sticks that are popular, I've got a good few self seeded ash saplings growing in my garden, I'm going to dig them out and replant them up here in the woods see how they get on, and as the Ash dieback is widespread the ban on moving has been lifted

They had found Ash trees that were genetically resistant to Ash die back , in one part of the country , and were hoping to restock the country from the resistant trees. I haven’t heard any more about it for a while.

I'll have to look into it Mel, I know the arborists at work were keeping the felled ash they had removed in a fenced off area, I'll have a word and see what's happening
