Strange the things you read but I found this very interesting. When I was I nipper we lived on a farm in the Scottish Borders. My father at the time owned a landrover and trailer. He, his friend, my brother and I regularly travelled to Ashington on the Northumbrian coast to collect sea coal. As I recall it was hard work bagging the stuff and loading, from memory, up to a ton at a trip. My brother and I had to lie on top of the bags in the back of the Landi and our trip home was about 2 hours. On one occasion I was flirting with skimming stones and managed to clock my brother above the eye. My father, in his wisdom decided that my penalty was to walk home. I think I was 9 years of age and yes he was a right b*****d. Life is what it makes you . Jok.
