comanche 3,027
My lovely daughter presented me with a couple of traps today. She saw them on some budget shopping site for a couple of quid each and added them to her order. Well one is clearly designed for something a bit beefier than the use against mice it was advertised for. It also looks somewhat illegal for anything else. More like a mini amputation device. In deference to my fingers l worked out that the safest way to set it was to stand on it! A neat talking point though The other is a rather powerful rat sized variation on the usual break-back design but without a wooden or metal base. It needs care in setting but has the capacity for a lovely hair trigger. Edited August 9, 2023 by comanche 5 Quote Link to post
EDDIE B 3,166
Yes I've seen them for sale on the Chinese websites. The second one looks decent enough. I've seen them used for catching all sorts, even birds. 2 Quote Link to post
comanche 3,027
The second one does look very useable . It will definitely have a trial. Edited August 10, 2023 by comanche Quote Link to post

It reminds me of those European Muskrat traps. You could easily carry a couple of them around in your coat pockets Quote Link to post
mackem 26,675
The top one has the basic shape of a belisle foot snare, but I know it’s a Chinese rat trap, good finds, and a thoughtful daughter. Quote Link to post
