Tomatoes was decent and onions only grew half the size as had in a little pot but made one dinner atleast not bad for waiting all year

A mate gave me a load of tomatoes last week. Made them all into a gazpacho. Everyone said it was one of the best they’d tasted. Point is that the tommies bought in supermarkets etc taste like watery shoite. Proper homegrown, from good strains are a thousand times better tasting, whether in gazpacho or a sauce.

Yeah see other day 3 store brought tomatoes have the same nutritional value of 1 grown at home. So they say!

The flavour is beyond comparison. Nutrition wise, I’ve no idea but it wouldn’t surprise me if that was true.

The thing with commercial fruits and vegetables in Spain (and probably other Med type climates/countries) is the sun. lot’s of sun, water, fertilizer etc. It makes the fruits and veggies grow fast with no flavour. Size over quality. Mix that with biotech/Monsanto seedlings/seeds/strains etc and you’ve got shit food being grown that gives maximum profit!

Boar taint is horrible but it’s a lottery, sometimes they are alright but when they ain’t it’s a flavour on the back of your throat never to be forgotten !

Those pigs are tidy, Oxford Sandy Blacks or some derivative mate ?
I had Tamworth x GOS and they looked very similar as well.

Yeah OSBs these ones. My last were tam × GOS.

Misus has been doing vegs and been going OK.

BIG learning curve with all this for us both.

Submitting the letter to the schools this week that we are removing the kids and opting for Elective Home Education.
