Yes, I remember you going up there now.

Why's that when they can film a endangered snow leopard during a spectacular hunt in the himalayas. Yes I know I get it...I'm very sceptical myself.....my reply was based on your assumption that cos its 2009 he must have a got a photo... Like I say I've been sceptical on the subject all my life....but my stance is not quite as hard line as it was.....I think there's lots to be said for anecdotal evidence....and whilst I'm not a personal friend of Greyman I have no reason to disbelieve any of his evidence or stuff he tells us...he's one of us and seems a genuin type of chap 10

A lot of people assume the same sort of thing, tomo. And just because mobile phones with built in camera have been available for a couple of decades, EVERYONE must have one AND take it with them EVERYWHERE they go! I often leave my phone at home, gives me some extra peace and quiet, plus the fact, probably like most people in the country, when I go for a walk, I don't EXPECT to see a non native big cat to take a picture of!! Lol. 1 minute ago, TOMO said: I think there's lots to be said for anecdotal evidence. OoOOOoooh!! lol

I have no reason to discredit greyman but let's just see some proof.
Bush Rummager 4,694
I don't think it's a natural primative reaction to whip your phone out if you where to have an unexpected big cat encounter in our countryside today. More likely your arse would fall out. I was out on a walk in the rain yesterday evening and spotted a hare sat layed tight not 10 feet from me. By the time I'd fumbled getting my phone out with wet hands.. turned my camera back around facing the right way, the hare had got up.. put the middle finger upto me and skedaddled off into the woods! B@stard!! Lol.. 3

I think it more that greyman is a good bloke, your all his mates and you feel like i'm attacking him by questioning big cats.

I've got absolutely no excuses for people not getting 'that' pic other than what mentioned. I'd certainly like to as it would be a nice little earner from the media I'm sure.. and who'd turn down a nice little easy wedge for the sake of taking a pic! I get on with everyone mate on here I'd like to like so and yes, Greyman is a sound bloke but like TOMO says I don't know him personally and we've never swapped pm's or anything. I'm straight down the middle mate and say things how see it and take people as I find them!

Arry 21,973
Trouble with phone cameras is the are crap at range and if you use digital zoom the definition goes. Took pictures yesterday of a cub with a phone but I I managed to creep up to about 20 feet away if it was the other side of the field you would not be able to tell what it was. The other thing imo is few people take a camera with them now because of the camera in the phones they carry. As for filming Snow Leopards they know roughy where they are and a lot of money and high tech equipment is used in getting that film footage. The UK is 94.058 square miles Devon where I live is 2.534 square miles so no mean task trying to get a photo. I strongly believe there will be photo evidence in the not so distant future as more people put out more trap cameras. But even if a good photo is produced I think many people will poo poo it. There was some good photos of a Lynx by a bloke but he got slated to f**k even though he swore blind it was legit. There was mobil phone footage of a Lynx at Cornwood on the side of Dartmoor (somebody put it up on here on another thread) but that got slagged too. Trouble is 20 years ago there where sighting quite often around were I live now very few. I think there are a lot less about now and massive areas to hide in. Cheers Arry
Greyman 28,545
The best picture you will see is this one that was shot and is stuffed it’s kept in secret due to the fact it has no import papers with it because it was never imported it is mounted on a roe deer to emphasise its Britishness I think we are getting better at collecting dna which is enough to send a man to prison for life so should be enough to further our cause rick has a lot of very compelling footage that he will never publish but can be seen at the talks he does including a very clear video of a mountain lion walking around a farmyard at night, interestingly in that article the guy from Warwick university mentions the 20212 case were it was claimed to have been a fox that killed and ate a fully grown roe, though it was actually the first panthers pardos dna we ever gathered but the government placed a D notice gagging order on it which is why I have always had an issue with the labs at Warwick anyhow it is what it is

THE STIFFMEISTER 16,042
Baring a few escapees , I cannot accept that the majority of sightings are not running dogs that have become lost or dumped for being jank
