A sticky dilemma

Recommended Posts

After buying a few tubes of this epoxy,I "set"about fixing the handle to the stick, mixed the solution and applied it to the bolt, and inserted it into the drilled holes in both stick and handle ,attached the above to each other,...and wallah.....the glue hasn't set in 20 minutes ,...friggin sickened ,....anyone any idea as to why this may have  (not) happened ...?

Should have done a COSHH Assessment based on the product data sheet followed by a Risk Assessment. Only yourself to blame really.

Huh? Lol

Check the date on the product mate - also, what materials were you sticking together?..........

It could be a shit glue or, as already said, it might just need a bit more time ??

Timber to timber with a steel pin connection,it's after drying but I will have to go back to my original (expensive) epoxy

The original Araldite that took 24 hours to set gave a far stronger bond than the 5 minute stuff you get now.

Whatever claims those knock off epoxies claim on the carton have to be taken with a grain of salt .

Give it time . I have had some Poundland stuff that didn't  set and a mate's wife who was a chemist told me why . It was a technical answer l've forgotten but basically it was probably old.

Apart from that l've always been happy to use it .
