just a quick question for the falconry boys and girls.

 

when you hunt with a bird,say a mhh do you hunt with them until the end of there days or near enough? or duz a hawk have like an expierie date? (bad choice of words but its the best way i can think of putting it lol)

 

i know it may be a silly question but i know nothing about hunting with birds of prey,other that what i pick up from having a nosey through the posts on here

I think it generally depends on the bird tbh but Im sure someone like jasper will let you know for defo,

I have a friend who flew a Buzzard up until it was 22 years old.

Most people fly between 4-8 years then start to breed

also depends on how hard the bird has been flown.

say you fly the hawk for 6 years but then dont wana go into the whole breeding thing,do people just keep the hawks or do they get rid some how?
