it’s nature ffs lol

It's barbaric, only a backward desert dwelling camel jockey would think it's acceptable to slit an animals throat without stunning it first

Disgusting. Anyone who would kill any animal without stunning it first should be locked up. Sick in the head IMO

Does that include rabbits hare and deer caught in the countryside

Exactly BB we kill plenty and as fireman said plenty lurcher lads slash deers throats after the dogs pull them and most will be thanking god they caught one so it’s blessed

I think there's a difference, maybe not in suffering or outcome, but domesticated livestock should in my view be killed as humanely as is practically possible as with wild game but the practically in the field is somewhat different.

Personally for me no it doesn't include them. We should always dispatch as quickly as possible, so I deer caught, in hot blood, as all prey are caught, then cutting it's throat maybe the quickest way to do it. It's simply not possible to use an electric stunning device first as that would, apart from being impractical, prolong things. Rabbits are stunned, with a quick blow.

Prolonging things with a domestic animal, for the practice of an alien religion, in the UK, to me is wrong.

A farmer, that doesn't need the money, dealing with those cnuts, and allowing that to happen to his stock, again in my opinion, is wrong.

I just wondered on the legalities of it

Of course it does, would be a bit hypocritical to think it's barbaric when done in a slaughthouse but fine when done elsewhere wouldn't it! :whistling:

To be clear I couldn't give a feck about halal/kosher (funny how only one is ever mentioned :hmm:) slaughter or how folk humanely dispatch quarry in the field, I just find it hilarious seeing a bunch of hunters getting their knickers in a twist over animals having their throat slit

Try argue with any normal bod on the street that a dog chasing and pulling a deer and slitting it's throat to finish it off is more humane than halal/kosher slaughter, see how far you get ;)

As far as l'm aware if the animal has been rendered unconscious ,in other words "stunned", it is still halal as long as the heart is pumping blood when the throat is cut .

Slaughter without stunning is simply a tradition that hasn't evolved to encompass the availability of modern stunning techniques.

Interestingly, to be accepted as halal the animal must not be subjected to fear or rough handling handling before slaughter.

See BGD's post above ref dogs and deer.....????

Yep, in fact 95% of halal slaughtered meat in the UK is actually pre-stunned.

Kosher on the other hand is never stunned so maybe all the animal rights activists on here should switch their focus ;)

Under Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 it is an offence to sell, or to supply to another person, meat that has not been slaughtered and health-marked in a licensed abattoir. It is for this reason that meat that has been slaughtered on-farm can only be consumed by the owner and their immediate family.
