Arry 22,513
Out for a walk with the Wife couple miles down by the river and this happened to her Scarpa boots. Found some bailer twine and tied it around to get her back to the car lol. She has had them few years but shouldn't happen to hiking boot. The sole is only 2mm or 3mm think bloody rubbish. So new pair needed any recommendations was thinking Altberg or Lowa maybe ? Cheers Arry

So new pair needed any recommendations was thinking Altberg or Lowa maybe ? Cheers Arry I had a pair of unissued desert boots that l kept for several years . When l did start using them the soles fell apart in what looked like lumps of cheese in a couple of days . I don't know if its true or not but l was told they had biodegradable soles that broke down if the boot wasn't worn regularly. The metal plate that poked into my foot certainly wasn't particularly biodegradable! As for replacements - don't get fixated on a specific brand . All the respected brands make boots to the same specifications . Military personnel are often allowed to select footwear from a range offered by several manufacturers who's products all satisfy technical requirements . The choice makes it easier for the service person to find something that suits their own feet. Find the boot that fits comfortably and look at the name afterwards.
