Small telescopic rod recommendation

Never really fished before just after recommendation’s of a little telescopic that packs down small and clips to a day sack. They all pretty much the same the travel telescopics? Nearly picked up a lidl one today but didn’t pack down that small. Want something packs down 30-40cm. Clip on bag for a wander along the canal with lurcher. Just basic fishing rig. 
 

Idea is walk all day with dog along canal maybe camp. Odd pint along the way so dont need/want loads of kit.

Shakespeare do a decent little telescopic fishing rod that comes with a reel that i found okay . Think mine was about 24 pound and the reel was already spooled up with line.

Yeah I got a Shakespeare quality is lot  better  than the other £20 combos out there

Love the Shakespeare firebird kit as well for travelling light, ngt make good quality cheap rods but the reels break straight away

prefere a little 4 piece travel rod instead of a telescopic,more forgiving action something like this

Got to admit the reels are not that good and I used I daiwa reel on mine instead of the Shakespeare reel that came with the rod.

No mate a crossfire spinning reel not a bad little reel a picked up cheap years ago from Calcots in Attercliffe Sheffield after the floods in 2008 that more or less shut him down. One of them old fashioned tackle shops that was like an Alladins cave.

Telescopic rods are for kids and the sort that have never bought a rod licence ..you won't go wrong with that rod Jig

Received the rod yesterday,..delighted with it ,tidy and simple to carry ,but it's a right good piece of kit,....matching reel is the next thing now lol
