bird 9,936
hope he does what you want sandy, they deff seem to have very snipe face= muzzle dont they, wonder if that maybe bit of saluki in it genes going back, ok you get few greyhounds like that, but most got stronger head on them i worked at racing kennels for about 6 months , they had 50 greyhounds there , some of the males were big strong animals , with not bad size heads for as greyhounds go. so thats why i thought maybe the snipey heads come from the saluki type dogs .? Pretty all the old breed sighthounds like galgos and salukis are relatively narrow, all likely have a common ancestor direct from the 1st dog, genetically there is no evidence of them having been developed from another breed, whereas greyhounds tend to be stockier, perhaps because of their sprinting background or maybe because they were bred from a collie type ancestor, mind that was a couple of thousand years ago. greyhound Galgo. Think in human terms the difference between a sprinter and a 10,00 meter runner, they are built very differently. Edited May 30, 2023 by sandymere 1 Quote Link to post
fireman 10,926
All sight hounds have narrow heads, herding, guarding, working breeds have wide heads, you don't need brain room to see something and run after it and that's why there all as thick as shit..... 1 6 Quote Link to post
Deerhunter1 771
Nice looking pup, don’t think they look much like our greyhounds to be honest, look closer to Salukis in shape Quote Link to post

Bush Rummager 4,706
Not one to compare dogs to humans. But that's how the stayers look. Like Mo Farrah.. looks badly as fck.. but will run all day on a cup of rice.. Then check a big sprinter out.. Big as fuk and will blow his load after 90 seconds.. gassed out!!.. Bit like me!! 3 Quote Link to post
