moonlighter 1,164
Do you lads who hunt up there regular, find many foxes.. I go ferreting in the dales at least 3 or 4 times a season, and we are walking miles and bushing at the same time…. And I’ve never come across a fox up there..: but it looks ideal fox territory, especially with all the rabbits and ground birds . Quote Link to post

Im not massively fit some days can be horrid but you push on , and have days where you walk miles and miles and see nothing but once you get one up and going it’s a real sight Quote Link to post

Deerhunter1 771
Best hunting experiences of my life have been on hills & mountains, not for foxes but that sort of terrain is a real test of men and dogs 4 Quote Link to post
white van man 3,329
When I got back into the Lurchers it was mainly for lamping. I’ve ended up going down this road and it’s my favourite sort of hunting. My dogs still lamp and ferret but seeing them running and hunting on the hills is great. Get out where no one else is and let the dogs hunt up. I’ve seen a few different types hunt the hills. Start them off with a decent hill dog and the penny soon drops.
