I like good strong wrists aswell mc I think alot of dogs these days have weaker wrists than earlier dogs?

Also look for strong thick patella stifle  tibea connection hard to see in young pups tho

i agree, good strong wrists that fold well back on themselves, but if the foots flat or pastern let down, all the pressure is put on the wrist, and once a dog gets wrist injuries its knackered really.

You best take that down or Sandy will go ape shit ?

Experience is key, more they run  the better they get brain wise, definitely  up and  atem but they stay well. Speed wise slower than  a grey but soon leave a whippet.  Fair few lines, some

I can't open it mate ,not on fb but I seen it already, apparently the bloke had a saluki wi him aswell but it ran off an never come back ?

I think a lot of earlier dogs were tougher in general, less toe injuries or torn muscles etc, didn’t see many retired young from injury but see it all the time in recent years

Do you think a lot is sacrificed for pace alone, and thats why dogs get finer?

That’s a very good point !
I’ve seen it with non-ped racing whippets over the last fifty odd years.

They used to be more “heavily boned” and had better feet…….now they are incredibly faster, but “break” far easier.

Cheers.

I think in a lot of cases people will have an injury prone dog that really shouldn’t be bred from, but they’ll breed from it anyway because they want to make a few quid off pups or stud fees. Either that or they just can’t admit the dogs no good and start again so it’s easier to pretend it’s all fine, breed from it and just put up with them being injured half the season

Yeah its like a dog winning the derby or a big coursing stake but it has to be treated all the way and is not the soundest, but they are the dogs that people que up to breed from.

You’re not wrong, thing is with lurchers a lot of the time the dog isn’t even anything special it’s just because it’s got a fancy pedigree with well known names, could be a load of shit & people still rush to breed off it

They appear in Greyhounds which are in your dogs, but what you are saying is you have no experience of really flat feet because they dont occur in the dogs you keep (not breed) So everything you have said so far means nothing as usual because you have no experience as usual. You really are a bit thick mate. As far as bad mouths are concerned in saluki types, its simple they are lacking drive. If my dogs turn out with flat feet, lack of drive, gameness or wind then I take them out of the breeding program. Thats something else I believe you only have negative experience of.

greyhounds which are in my dogs ??

the last greyhound in any my dogs was ballyreagan bob 30 year ago

i’ve seen flat feet your talking about maybe half a dozen times in running dogs all been bull greys apart from one a whippet grey all been shite lol i buy from descent lads with good stock

im thick lol do you owe dogs let’s see one a yours ? lol

bad mouths lol you never even seen a proper runner ffs what do you know about coursing dogs

lack drive ffs lol nonsense you slip a bull x on a hare which i’ve seen hundreds a times they will tuck tail and come back after a minute

a saluki will run it until it collapses some won’t be right some will peg it how’s that for drive ? lol

i don’t have a breeding program i’ve bred 2 litters in me life in 26 year a running dogs i’ve always had a capable dog about me

i was never into teeth and doubling up it’s easy boring and for the kiddies lol

You seen many of the dogs in his pedigree run?

i know lads run with romeo said he’s a good killer and can stop strong uns look at the dogs in his pedigree killers of hares for 6 decades

we can always have a run deer man only a dog with shit feet and a bad mouth i’ll run you on out edible but single and we have to go from it getting dark until light
