minion 29
I thought Sooty Sam was a failed show dog. i didn't think there was Laguna in him. I may be wrong as I have never seen any peds but am sure it said in the whippet yearbook that Mike Brown got him as a failed show dog. Someone on the whippetforum would pob know. Guest reload
Cheers Minion, I maybe totally wrong about Laguna? Maybe is Lynperry whippets which are supposed to have Laguna in there? Just because he is a show dog does not mean he didnt have Laguna in him, many Lagunas did well in the ring. Quote Link to post
Guest Frank
As far as i can make out, Nimrodle, shallfleet and Martinsell are behind sooty sam lines. Quote Link to post

To be honest I don't know anything about show dogs or what lines were good in the ring. I dont know alot about Laguna lines either, or whippets in genral. My pup has alot of laguna in and I have herd the name "laguna" and that it was a good coursing line. I tried to find out about the dogs on her pedagree on the whippet forum but no one seemed intrested in replying. I only read about Sooty Sam in the yearbook. Quote Link to post

Guest reload
Maybe Prolific stud dog is a better word. I would genuinely like to see his pedigree. So where are all these Laguna bred dogs coming from as I cant all be from Laguna Kennels.....? Mrs McKays died who owned the affix and her daughter now has the affix Mrs Bond-Gunning. So where are all these Laguna bred dogs coming from as I cant all be from Laguna Kennels.....? Mrs McKays died who owned the affix and her daughter now has the affix Mrs Bond-Gunning. Two of the top coursing dogs in the 's were Laguna Leader, and Laguna Larkin. These dogs were used to sire many litters of show and coursing dogs.Laguna Leader belonged to Mrs Mckay, but Laguna Larkin belonged to a Dr Adams. I'm sure that most litters from coursing lines would have either Laguna,Nimrodel,Maximillian Or shalfleet somewhere in there pedigree. Quote Link to post
