Like the Cotswolds mate large expanses of open wild land close to big city’s were places people let them go, it’s why there are small clusters the length and breadth of the country, the land dictates wether they stay or move on look at old maps of an area and it’s easy to see

To be honest the lad was not all that taken with the place mate it’s just to say you been there and caught fish, but planes taking off and landing every 2 mins and it’s quite heavily stocked now, unlike the old days of boating round an over grown pit to find a small gap in the foliage to fish from and wondering wether your motor was going to still be in one piece when you got back, no body wants to pioneer today all want instant results, one of my best mates was the last person to catch Mary when she was the biggest carp in the country sadly she died not long after and he got so much shit from people he gave up the fishing for years
