TOMO 26,005
That's the thing with dogs...they can get by and sometimes thrive on poor diets...you see it all over the world... Of course giving the best you can is going to be better....but I bet I'm not the only one that as a young fella fed vitalin and boiled rabbits...the dogs looked well and certainly worked well enough.. 4 Quote Link to post

Although I never feed tripe on its own.. it’s normally mixed with a good dry food.. maybe the tripe makes them eat more than they normally would. But when I used to lamp my coursing dogs, on top of coursing, they could loose too much weight imo. I like a strong coursing dog, so I didn’t want them too lean. My old coursing dog would take some hammer.. I’d lamp foxes on the Friday night, then run him in a comp on the Saturday . But I’d feed them twice a day and try keep the weight on them. 1 Quote Link to post

Because I can get beef and chicken of the same man I get my tripe from so I do. Lol. A fiver's worth of sheep's belly's and heads would of kept 2 lurchers and 2 terriers well feed for a week in the dead of winter. 1 Quote Link to post
