There definitely isn't as many lads out putting work in front of dogs anymore so it only makes sense there would be less good dogs, although there's always been bad dogs and plenty of them.  Gett

Personally I think every pup is a gamble, nothing is garenteed, easy to spoil certain types... thats why it's best to breed your own, that way then you will know the faults as well as the strengths ...

Another problem is lads having low standards. Seen a post on Facebook the other day of a dog working a fox, to be honest I wouldn't keep the dog in my pens as it was very poor but in the comments for

what do you call a good dog? we all different demands, requirements from a dog. the chap doesn't say what he wants it for. there is plenty of stuff being worked. go for parents doing what you want and the rest is down to you.

they have to be....or what's the point of  keeping on breeding them??

That's the problem there's plenty being bred but have 75% of them been tested enough to have earned it as opposed to what the grandparents did etc

I think that's very true. a combination of all of us getting older, not many young people coming into the game. coupled with less numbers regards rabbits and too many do gooders and nanny state laws.

I think the decent lads are still at it… it’s the retards who give the job a bad name, who come and go like the wind… if there the ones who you get your dogs from, then the future might look bleak.. I know some good lads and there dogs are bang on. About as good as you could hope for really.
