fred90 3,208
what do you call a good dog? we all different demands, requirements from a dog. the chap doesn't say what he wants it for. there is plenty of stuff being worked. go for parents doing what you want and the rest is down to you. 4 Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,867
All got different requirements but some still breed off tested parents, loads of mad bred pups on gumtree and that but you can tell by chatting if they work or not. 4 Quote Link to post

That's the problem there's plenty being bred but have 75% of them been tested enough to have earned it as opposed to what the grandparents did etc 2 Quote Link to post
dogmandont 9,802
There definitely isn't as many lads out putting work in front of dogs anymore so it only makes sense there would be less good dogs, although there's always been bad dogs and plenty of them. Getting good dogs isn't the problem it's getting good dog men. 12 3 Quote Link to post

I think that's very true. a combination of all of us getting older, not many young people coming into the game. coupled with less numbers regards rabbits and too many do gooders and nanny state laws. 2 Quote Link to post

riohog 5,701
no shortage of running dogs ,more a shortage of folk who know how to handle one , !.thats why so many end up on the roundabout . 3 Quote Link to post
moonlighter 1,163
I think the decent lads are still at it… it’s the retards who give the job a bad name, who come and go like the wind… if there the ones who you get your dogs from, then the future might look bleak.. I know some good lads and there dogs are bang on. About as good as you could hope for really. 2 Quote Link to post
