DanSW 9
Hey all, I'm currently restoring a cheap 12g Baikal SxS. When I mean cheap I mean £50 cheap. Purely as a project gun and to learn on and restore. I'm currently trying to find a butt pad to put on it as it did not come with one. The dimensions measured with calipers are - Length - 115mm Width at widest point - 42mm Center of existing screw hole to screw hole - 75mm What butt pad would you recommend as some can be shaped to fit these dimensions. Also the stock is in real bad shape and was advised by the father in law to strip the varnish, sand down lightly and restain with an oil. And lastly any recommendations with liquid blue. Many thanks in advance. Edited April 25, 2023 by DanSW
ryanharis 0
As for the liquid blue, it's essential to follow the manufacturer's instructions carefully. Ensure the metal parts are clean and degreased before applying the bluing solution. Multiple thin coats are usually better than one thick coat for a more even finish. Don't forget to oil the blued parts to protect them from rust. For the best tree stand safety harness, follow the manufacturer's instructions diligently.
