jackthedog 0
well if these shows just charge people to park their cars they are not charging admission to the show ground so people can show their dogs with docked tails and certificate Quote Link to post
Guest manda
I thought you could still show a working dog with a docked tail no matter what certs it has, i think i read on crufts that they still allow working breeds to have docked tails in there shows??? my terrier pup still has tail but im not bothered he'll either work or not no matter if he has a tail or if he hadnt had a tail, but they do look weird like the rotties with tails Quote Link to post

baldockbanks courser 598
i just bought two 10 week old patterdale pups in for next to nothing due to a vet cutting the tails to short and spoiling the appearence of two otherwise cracking pups. the lad had previouslie docked him self doing a fine job but due to worrying about the law opted for the vet. thell do the job i want them for but it just shows the terrier and lurcher folk should be left to look after there animals. Keeps 403
The vet I use allows me to decide on the length - I stay in the room whilst its done just to make sure its exactly how I want it. He's also very reasonable, charges me about the same as my own local vet charges for a consultation. On the downside I have to travel about 25 miles to get it done and apart from the inconvenience, its not ideal for the pups to take them out in the cold, on a long journey and then wait in the vets till its done. It isnt worth the risk of doing it yourself though, as has been said above, your dogs could be taken from you if you don't provide the evidence, apart from a fine and a possible prison sentence, and it certainly is stupidity to post about it on here. Docked by the vets Quote Link to post
