Goose Eggs ??

Anybody tried them before ?, there bloke by me, who got small holding , that got hens, ducks ,  that ive tried few times both were nice eggs. But seen his sign selling goose eggs , just wondered what there like ? By the way  these birds are not them big white things lol, there are smaller type .? Not that i have any , just wondered  what they were like thats all ?

I like goose eggs Ray, but I haven’t got any geese.

All my other poultry; hens, ducks and quail are laying well though;

Goose eggs are nice if you like yoke as they have very little white upto other eggs, have just been out for a run around the local honesty box,s no eggs anywhere, the avian flu has bee really bad here this winter as I,m only two miles from slimbridge so gear flying in and out all season, swans have taken an absolute battering over the winter, usually lots of agro with the local cob fighting off all comers at this time of year but nothing this year his mate is sat on eggs and no newbies have tried to land goose numbers coming and going seem very low at the moment to

Coturnix Quail eggs are beautiful, Duck eggs on toast is my perfect breakfast though,

I wish the quail were as big as hens ! They are laying an egg a day, same as the Bovan Goldlines.

My Irish Hennie hen is laying every day just now, and I'm putting her eggs under a English Game x Bovan Goldline broody hen., poultry is a strange old game !

Years ago when we were breeding Birds of prey we had the quail in a 3 tier battery type system, Youngsters in the top, layers in the middle and those ready for the freezer in the bottom, along with a 100 egg incubator, they hatched in around 18 days then transfer to a brooder it was some set up, always found if you kept them in a normal Avery they would fly up and scalp themselves on the roof. They are the fastest breeding bird in the world,

its just a hobby to me, and having fresh eggs for breakfast, wether that be hen, duck or quail is a bonus

Duck eggs make amazing cakes , when I worked on game farm we got all the double yoker pheasant eggs they was spot on , miss my guinea fowl eggs too
