Yes your right. He would obviously know the exact spot, because he knew where his trail cam was. It would be an easy task to go back and get his photo taken, or even one of a Welsh flag at that very spot.

On a separate unrelated note I've seen a few deer around usk resevoir when I've been fishing and the place is absolutely stunning if anybody in South wales ever thinks of going it's well worth it

If it was my camera I would go back and start a video of the exact location and carry on filming as I walked back to any sort of landmark around there to prove 100% it's there

Got a black animal on one of the cams yesterday unfortunately as is always the case there was a lot of leaf litter on the floor and a branch covering the middle part of the body, so I will be back up there later with my dog that’s 24”” to get photos in the same spot it’s quite easy, it’s quite funny how everyone screams for a clear picture but this highlights that even that won’t be believed once you’ve set your stool in one camp or the other I have deleted clearer pictures than that because they never gave anything else with them it was also me that done reverse image search’s on the Yorkshire pumas and exposed there fakery that Mac mentioned

I very rarely do it on my cams because you have to reset it  every time you change battery’s it’s not a case of turning it off you just do nothing or waste ten minutes setting it up  it’s just easier not to no red flag at all probably more out there without it set I would imaging

I have lots of cams, always set with date and timestamp, with something as inconclusive and unlikely as a UK wild lynx the red flag of suspicion flags straight up for me.

To be fair, I never set time/date. It's not really something I care about. I didn't know it was possible to remove time/date, from cams though. Is it possible to do that with cheap cams? It's all I use.
