As if they were some sort of out of place alien that didn't match any known species . If you are going down the alien /supernatural route this country has folk tales describing sinister monster dogs with glowing eyes aplenty . But back to this dimension .......My hometown had its own Puma scare for about two weeks in the mid 70s. The creature caused a brief stir and disappeared . Understandably the owner of a pet puma that lived a couple of miles from the sightings denied that his pet had ever left home . And one occasion wolves were spotted on the outskirts of town. In fact a friend peppered one when it was eyeing up his chickens. It was no secret where they had come from though . They had prior form when it came to escaping . Yes mate, just been reading the theory they are Tulpas, manifestations, demons or they are teleporting, and even a modern version of black dogs.

The black dog I saw killing sheep several years back succumbed to a 243 100 grainer Mack so legend or not they ain’t infallible . This one had bright yellow eyes ….in the lamp . 1

T'other half is a librarian . I gave her a date range and hopefully she'll pull some old copies of the local paper so l can see if my memory of the puma is reliable . There was a plaster cast of a footprint doing the rounds and one of the witnesses was a friend of a friend . But back then everybody and their Mum knew everyone . Something to do while l'm waiting for my van to fail its MOT this afternoon anyway.

Th Everything was on micro film; If l hadn't had a rough date in my head l would've had to trawl through reels of the stuff. Once l worked out the mechanics of the viewing device the first front page to hit the screen was a winner! Then the thing made the second page the following week. And back to the front page a week later. Definitely don't worry ; this was nearly 50 years ago. Out of interest l internetted and found out that this sighting is recorded "on the list" . I don't know what happened to it . This was just before the 76 Act . I can tell you from the newspaper report that the owner paid £250 for it . I'll not post the full articles until l've blanked peoples' names out. This is a start though. If you read the last couple of paragraphs you really have to hope it wasn't released!

Apparently there are far more sightings around habitat than rural areas .Iffy when every shooter nowadays has thermal imaging . The advent of thermal has not brought to light one single decent image when I can zoom in on a rat at 100m and see if it’s male or female . Very strange set of affairs mate .

Forestry commission reputedly saw two big cats when doing a thermal deer survey?BUT if you dig into the reports the guy says something along the lines of he wasn’t exactly sure what he actually saw. 1
