I remember back in the late 60s and 70s mysterious puma and panther-like thingies were often put in the same cat...agory (so sorry)as UFOs . As if they were some sort of out of place alien that didn't match any known species . If you are going down the alien /supernatural route this country has folk tales describing sinister monster dogs with glowing eyes aplenty . But back to this dimension .......My hometown had its own Puma scare for about two weeks in the mid 70s. The creature caused a brief stir and disappeared . Understandably the owner of a pet puma that lived a couple of miles from the sightings denied that his pet had ever left home . And one occasion wolves were spotted on the outskirts of town. In fact a friend peppered one when it was eyeing up his chickens. It was no secret where they had come from though . They had prior form when it came to escaping .
