I think it's great Greyman does his thing and doesn't give a f**k about his critics. Carry on carrying on Greyman.

Id trap it and take the cage to Notton Lane with a note saying " ave that soppy bollocks " ?

Feeders have been there years...get the odd rat but they don't last long,  either the cat or the airgun sorts em out ....I find the cover encourages the birds more

Come on, paulus, there are plenty of us on here that are genuinely interested in this, without resorting to insults and name calling etc.

Plenty of us are genuinely interested.

Please don't pull the the plug on it.  ?

As long as it stays civil. all will be fine,

You’re a lucky chap mate . I’m pretty rural but haven’t seen a finch bar one bullfinch all winter . Worrying really .

There's no shortage of finches up here in the north east, even just around the industrial estates, Bull, gold, and Chaffinches galore

Good numbers here, Bullfinch are not as common anymore though.

I’ve a mate in Coventry that gets loads of finches bar bulls .It’s sad we havnt even seen a chaffinch to my knowledge .We have seed ,fat balls ,and suet pellets plus sunflower heads that just go mouldy .

Mate just a village away sends me pics and vids of flocks of green finches on same set up .

Hope we don’t have a cat prowling around whilst my back is turned .

Pigeons spill the suet for the blackbirds and wagtails  .Tits aplenty mind ,even a marsh tit which is why I can justify shooting corvids in the garden with the airgun as they are on the red list .We have pied flycatchers locally too but only ever seen the one pair few years back that nested in an old wall near our place .

Hopefully the thread will pick up momentum with something to discuss .

I'd say your feeders are in the wrong place and are better out in the open away from cover where a cat etc could ambush them as such, chaffies usualy feed under a feeder on spilt seed rather than on a feeder like a goldy will do,,

Coal tits two a penny here mate .They are last of the tits to feed if in a group .Blue tits first ,then great tits ,long tails followed by coal if they are in the same flock .Used to have a nuthatch with them but not yet this year .

On the squirrel feeder I have which is just peanuts where I shoot them ,nuthatches are there nearly every minute .They must store nuts in crevices I reckon as no way can they eat them as quick as they take them .Fiery little feckers won’t tolerate another same time .Great spotted woodpeckers too .

Its sad that some supposed countrymen havnt a clue as to bird names ,not a scooby .I always talk about bird life when out with clients  stalking and some just seem oblivious to them .

Got same set up by a wall and in the middle of our patio mate .We used to have finches galore couple years back .

Im going to set up a trail cam to see what exactly is using it as I only usually see it first and last light .

Nuthatch.  One of my favourite birds.

And you're correct about most 'supposed' countrymen not having much of a clue, I used to see it quite regularly.
