James88 133
Is there anyone keeping a line going of working pures? Ever since I got into dogs I've always said I'd have a pure one day and I know what people say they won't do nothing a good line bred won't do ect but I will have one in the near future and the missus likes them which is a bonus. So back to my question, when I first started out in dogs a good few year back you would here of pures tor khan sonny but I rarely here of anything any more and don't see as many litters from working lines so my question is are they not as popular or am I looking/asking in the wrong place. Any info be great Quote Link to post

Any info be great It doesn't matter if they would or wouldn't do anything that a line bred dog couldn't do, somebody has to keep and work them or there'd be nowhere to go for a saluki outcross There's been a few lads over the years keen with the pures, Brookie, Arcticgun, and Desertbred to name a few Edited March 30, 2023 by low plains drifter Finger like a blind cobblers thumb 4 Quote Link to post

grompz 706
seen quite a few pure salukis, running over the years very unpredictable, some days and they were on top form they were brilliant at coursing hares, other days wouldnt try hard, would just lollop behind the hare, and wouldnt even attempt to strike or pick the hare up,never seen one retrieve, just stand over what they killed, owned a couple of first xs and a 3/4 bred salukix greyhound, totally different dogs, if i were abit younger id be going down those lines again, obedience can be very challenging to say the least, still i wish you well with a pure if you can find one with decent breeding and at a realistic price. 1 Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,894
If going pure route get it as young as you can as they can be a pain to bond with, like all dogs they have good and bad days 2 Quote Link to post

That's the only place outside of the desert middle-eastern countries I've seen salukis used for work. Wouldn't be looking to import and definitely not a millionaire lol, would be looking for a UK line dog Quote Link to post
