Guest greengrass123
you can shoot me should i ever darken the doors of the show world As far as i'm concerned ( you may disagree) a working dog should be working, not poncing about in a show ring with ribbons in it's nicely shampoo'd coat. i don't shampoo my dog, she get's a hosing down when she’s really bad, otherwise nothing, and she has one shiney coat. Got it in one my point exactly

Got it in one my point exactly one of mine went BOB at crufts without having a bath!!!! Hed been running in the muddy field at 4am the same morning and I can remember picking dried mud off his belly as we waited for the judge to go over him!!! Depends on the breed mate
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Again DS you and i both know what it boils down to................money, for all concerned whether its the Kennel Club, Breed Club or the breeders. Indesputably, Nikey. Exactly, mate. The Breeders produce the product. The KC's pimp it. Money all round. Now, BC here seems to have missed my point ..... But, isn't the use of " The Kennel Club " more an acceptable generalisation? People could say, eg. " The british Police are a bunch of sods for the things they'll nick us for. " But, equelly; It's not the Police. It's the politicians who make up the laws which the Police must then enforce. So people could blame the Police wrongly. But we know what they mean ..... yeah really no shit!!!! kennel clubs + a club consisting of individual kennels and breeders + the individual kennels and breeders making the rules and standards = well duh... a kennel club. sorry, they all gather under that tent you mean i should keep an open mind out that there may be ONE breed club that ISNT ruining its breed? hahaha Surely you jest!!! and who sanctions the stinkin judges that pick the winners, eh? we may also blame them as well. however thats not what we're talking about here. No. What I was actually trying to do, BC, was head off the earlier and repeated 'Defences' of the KC's ~ working by dint of seperating and distancing them from the Breeders. Be they 'Top Show' or 'Back Yard'. Perhaps my analogy went somewhat adrift in the translation? I was rather rushed when I wrote it and am, again, a bit rushed right now. I'm working on a domestic job here But perhaps my more simplistic " Pimp " referance will make my own stance clearer for all? In fact, might I even go as far as to say I don't honestly believe I've ever kept a " Pedigree " Dog? Oh! Whoops! Yes; I did once buy a " Pedigree Papered Border Terrier " pup. Over priced and worthless piece of shit that that turned out to be. It went to a pet home pretty damn sharp, I can tell ye! But then, it was itself a " Rare " blue and tan Dog. Bet the couple who took it are to this day immeasurably proud of how their Dog looks. And the scrap of paper which probably added about £350 to it's price ticket, which they gladly paid. Anyway, perhaps that better exemplifies my own view of the " Kennel Club Set " ? Now I must get back and finish this new door lock
TOPPER 1,809
KC - BREED CLUBS call them what you like there just in it for money and thats the demise of any dog breed just look what they done to the bedlington, the beddie was the finest allround terrier and now look at it!! most are twice the size they should be with no bone or muscle on them, stupid tiny teeth crap coats and all manner of problems i could go on for ever, worker to worker know your dogs and breed for the best steer clear of any joker looking to make money rant over
jrt666 1
they fook dog breeds up,no excuses,no bullshit,no big words. breeding dogs to look good above anything else is just the wrong way to set about things. the get on there high horses about peds and kc reg because they know that joe public will assume that all the paper work and the sky high price means they get the best dog but if the truth be known they will bend the rules to breed dogs that they think will win best in show. its just a shame that jo public gets taken in by there bullshit WANKERS. Jo Public should do his homework before parting with his cash......i would. yeah maybe you would, but say you knew f**k all about dogs other than what you read in books to clue you up a bit before you brought you first/new puppy home. where would you find the eveidance to point to the fact that the kc and brees club people aint always the best people to ask when looking to buy that first/new pup? after all most of the breeders web sites, adds ect ect go on about peds and kc reg and all that, then youve got the biggest show of the year that gets on tv,kc this kc that joe public is gona belive the bullshit i know i did before i joined up on here and read a lot of things posted by real dog people. if youve grown up around working dogs all your life then your clued up about all this but most people aint that lucky.
