DIDO.1 22,845
They are a bunch of robbing barstewards. Think it's the owners more that the vets. The ex Mrs was a vet (the spoilt lying slag), she wasn't on brilliant money considering how long it took her to qualify
Daniel cain 46,087
Had me up a few times... quoted me £600 on the phone for a c section...went to collect the dog and surviving 3 pups...gave me a bill for £1800 and spayed my bitch without my consent(later causing her to piss herself with out knowing)cheeky cnuts asked how I was paying...told them you will have £100 per month...asked me what I was doing with the pups, told them they would be gifted... receptionist said the vet likes this one pup...told her, knock £1200 off the bill ,she can have them all,her face was a picture....picked up the dogs and left
Qbgrey 4,142
I’m afraid not many old school vets about now, mostly vegan anti hunting lot nowadays. I just come back from vets this morning unfortunately had to pts my 12 year old bully whip (£215.) was a great dog never let me down, could ferret, lamp, pick up on shoot, retrieve from water, excellent tracker on wounded fox. Will be missed very much

grompz 703
just got the bill for my old deerx grey. that i had to have pts at christmas time, this vet used to be realistic on prices, till she started taking on young vets just out of veterinary school, who have wised her up to the prices to charge, total bill with vat was £280, used to have to wait ages to get a bill from her, now your hardly out of the door till they want payment, still i never begrudge the money ive spent on my dogs over the years, still miss having the old boy, round the yard, rip cloud.
greg64 2,850
i paid £500 quid for a tooth extraction on my bull cross and two weeks later his brother swallowed a whole corn on the cob he got out of the bin and that cost £480 had him over night on a drip until he past it himself ,they certainly know how to charge
grompz 703
dont know would it be worth taking an insurance out on the dogs, ive heard from mates off mine that some of these companys not worth a toss, myself over the years have just put a few pounds a way a month, and hope nothing too drastic happens, must admit had a good few hefty bills over the years, still treat minor injurys myself, and buy bits and pieces on the net to keep costs down, what with vets fees, and feeding costs, its getting expensive to keep dogs if you look after them proper. Will be missed very much I spent a lot of time around vet students when the ex was training at London, found most of em were country orientated actually. They had a good clay pigeon shooting club, a few shot game and a number hunted. Maybe it was just the ones my ex lived and knocked around with or perhaps it was the most expensive vet school and just drew a higher number from private schools but I found em far from vegan and anti at the time
Qbgrey 4,142
Our vets has been thier for years ,40 odd I reckon, the boss is a greyhound vet specialist and 1 other, they have been great to us, a couple of girls are into hawks etc . It was a vets I was with for a while that was anti. Got very bad looks at midnight taking an injured dog in covered in claret. I had to put her right what we had been up to. leegreen 2,197
I could write a book about bad practise, massive rip offs, no nothing muppets and robbing bar stewards. I get sick of hearing about them, those and the insurance companies that control them.

white van man 3,341
I can’t fault my vet at all. She’s really good with working dogs especially the Lurchers. I’ve been in all hours and she even left a Christmas party to come treat my lurcher once. Not a lot of independent vets about now so unfortunately it’s all about how much money they can squeeze out of folk. As been said, unnecessary treatments, overcharging, unnecessary follow ups etc. Some of the bills I hear of people paying is scandalous. I was away from home a couple of years back and my runner cut himself bad. I did what I could to stop the bleeding but it was jetting out. Googled the nearest vet and drove down there. Dog was going down hill massive but they wouldn’t take him to treatment room until my card was swiped and cleared!! 3
