MikeTheDog 153
i asked him if he wanted rid of a few foxes and did he want me and my freind too do any earths he just said no Wake up and smell the fecking coffe!...Put yourself in the farmers place, would you want you and your mates digging fox's on your farm!....Softly fecking softly boy!..."Please Mr Farmer can I do a bit of ratting round your barn/chicken shed...or maybe ferret the lane"...I think you might have had more luck with that approach. Try him again, but not on the bloody charlie's ..Good luck! Quote Link to post
weejohn 3
i am really glad you started this topic rolfe what i have been wondering for ages since this will be my first season working the dogs when the harvest comes do you treat the dogs with anything to make their skin tougher on there pads as not to damage them on the really sharp stubble. i am sure i read somewhere that if you start bathing the dogs feet in salt water a couple of weeks before the harvest this can toughen up the skin. and do you tape up the dogs stoppers as i have also heard of people doing this? hairyface 211
i agree with dith shitter, lets be honest, keeping on the right of a farmer is better than the wrong side, now ive got 4700 acre of permission, and all thats down to helping farmers from time to time, i used to be a farm worker for different farmers then i went self employed and worked for farmers tempory or part time then when i worked for an agricultural contractor i came into contact with other farmers, so now even though im a coalman ive got a lot of contacts, and therefore obtained all this permission, and some of the farms i go to ive got full run of the place, i can turn up as and when, i dont have to tell them when and where im going, so in theory ive got 4700acres to go at and dont own a single acre, so all you non believers, tell me where i'd be without these farmers?...cheersHF Edited January 30, 2008 by hairyface Quote Link to post
