Foodies... places worth visiting

Recommended Posts

We've got the "whats cooking" thread going, so thought I'd chuck up a thread of places worth visiting for decent grub, location etc... might give people a sway when they're visiting somewhere new etc.

Anyhow... today took mum, my Mrs and daughter out for mother's day..

This is South Milton Sands in South Devon.. right on the beach is the beach house, a small beach cafe that specialise in seafood... Great location..  very good grub, a little expensive .. worth a trip though..

When I read 'The Reindeer' my mind went straight to Edingley mate. But, after a quick check, that's the 'Old Reindeer' there!!  I'll try and make it over there at some point.. Mrs will be up for that.  The Lion at Farnsfield is decent too just up the road.

The old vol at Caythorpe is nice or was last time I went...and of course the oak at car Colston..which is in a beautiful setting looking out on the village green..

I like the little bistro place at the end of the lane by the wier at Gunthorpe...Italian style..that's nice as well...

Back a few years ago the Martins arms in Colston basset was good but I ain't been for years...I used to supply him with rabbits ...that was very expensive..but again in a beautiful little village
