iworkwhippets 12,506
A while back no since it happened, but ive been seeing the nurse at my doctors to have the dressing done, where the nail should be, is excessive growth, i have been reffered to a dermatologist, to have it looked at, at the hospital, the nurse told me this morning, she is leaning towards cancer, shook me up did that, i struggled to make it home, i wouldnt have thought she was qualified to tell me that out the blue,
kanny 20,420
Sorry to hear that , seems a bit odd that a nurse would jump the gun like that ? Hopefully they have referred you to a specialist? Wish you well Keith.
iworkwhippets 12,506
yes they have referred me to a specialist kanny, i just have to wait, ive had it for months now, it doesnt give me any problems, and i had a blood test, only last week in conjuction with mt prescription, i thought if anything was amiss cancer would have shown itself
chartpolski 23,103
Were you worried about it mate, and maybe misheard her ? Shes a nurse, not an oncologist, she shouldn’t be making diagnosis, call your GP and tell them you’re worried. I know it’s hard not to, but try not to fret about it until you get a definitive diagnosis. All the best. Cheers.

Netmaker 909
lets hope she is wrong mate and its not cancer she shouldn't have told you like that she doesn't sound very sympathetic
iworkwhippets 12,506
when i asked what does she think the problem is, her exact reply was, she was leaning towards cancer, i myself dont think it is, ive had trouble with this for a while now, it doesnt give me any pain, its just inconvenient, in day to day life, but i made it clear she was out of order , she isnt qualified im sure to tell me that, she even asked me which hospital removed my nail, i told her, no hospital i lost it myself in an accident

Night Walker 591
I’m no expert in this Keith but it may be over granulation or hypergranulation which is just your body healing from the lost nail. I wouldn’t think it’s cancer mate so try not to worry

jok 3,206
Right Keith. I don’t wish to cause a stir. Had an appointment, booked weeks ago for an 8.55am with the nurse at my local practice. On time, as usual, and waited for 55 mins and 2 requests to be seen. Lost the plot a little bit when told it had been a booked telephone appointment. Now then. My immediate problem is that both my big toe nails are falling out and it is not very comfortable. There I was with a nurse who actually said to make a telephone appointment to have it seen to. I was there for fck sake, in discomfort. Not one to complain I left but feeling a little let down. Jok.
