I know gamedogs are not to many peoples tastes but a great dogman is a great dogman regardless so on a working dog forum just wanted to pay respects after hearing of the passing of The Plymouth Rock M

Im guessing that would be Nikki ?.....of folk who were around in the late 80's who i may occasionally still have a natter with most say she was the best bitch they ever saw.

Always nice when a good one has the looks too

why the laughing face shh do you know any performance animal that breed farther to daughter and call it linebreeding ?

gnash can put his point across and i wouldn’t say it’s wrong just extreme that wouldn’t get results in greyhound racing horse racing or hare coursing

you are just f***ing clueless it is what it is talking with you your trying to talk dogs with a fishermen

Pigeons and dogs, it's not line breeding after 1 inbreeding. Has to be 'inbred' atleast twice to be line bred

Getting back to Mo Dann i first met him in my early 20's and where dogs were concerned i would take on information like a sponge it fascinated me....i remember a little story he told me that Mayfield had told him about the Nigger dog......Nigger was born on Earl Tudors yard and Mayfield went there to buy some dogs but Earl wouldnt sell him Nigger.....Don just wanted to match as many dogs as possible and offered him good money as Nigger was a real wild acting fight crazy young dog......anything that moved he wanted to kill and would even destroy feed/water bowls, his doghouse etc......Earl ended up having to feed/water him in a hole he had dug in the ground and used an old fuel tank from a B - 52 bomber as his doghouse.......even with all those precautions by the time Nigger was 2 he barely had a tooth left in his mouth and so couldnt be matched anyway.......Don later said it showed him that Earl Tudor was a man who could be trusted.

OK fella .... just re read  back that in your own head and let it sink in...

First off a great stockman wouldn't let that happen.... as in he would have given the dog the outlet to prove his worth and linage... he may have eaten dog bowls and water dishes but they don't weld back... for up to 30 minutes at a time.

It's like I hear supposed legends in the terrier world who say oh this dogs retired at 3 he's too hard.....

But think what you like from men who made a fortune of young gullible teens like yourself telling tales and making sales... the truth is in performance...

Just like a terrier on a dig a lurcher on a slip or a gundog raising birds...

But il still give you credit because you definitely seem to have been into your dogs at one time ?...

While im sure you have a better record than both Don Mayfield and Earl Tudor combined i like to think the point of the story and the reason Don told it to Mo and down the line to folk like myself was that not every dog needs to have won matches to create successful lines.......Don created one of the greatest lines of bulldogs in the history of the game with a dog that had never won a match.....old timers like that just had an eye for a dog and the game test was enough to see what he wanted to see.

Not as good as your eye for a dog granted and im sure your record stacks up well against old Dons....but in his day he was the king at matching bulldogs, simple as that.

i haven’t been around gamedogs like some on here stop i think gnash has knowledge on things knows his way around a dog we have the odd difference of opinions but he talks a lot a sense at times

like you  can talk sense at times aswell even though we have clashed and i’ve called you a knob  etc lol

we all have opinions don’t we but love working dogs so it’s all good be boring if we all muffed arse and thought the same  lol

You are talking about breeding for traits that are purely about physicality.....how fast a dog runs is a physical/athletic thing.....how fast a horse runs is a physical/athletic thing........the physical/athletic side of how well a dog can fight is way down the list of priorities......gameness is a state of mind, something i always liked to call a man made reversal of nature.

Inbreeding within game dogs is to lock in a state of mind NOT how hard the dog bites or how well the dog can work off a stifle hold etc....the minute you start inbreeding game dogs for anything other than gameness you are in trouble.

With every respect to you Mchull as you seem like a nice enough lad,you have literally no idea what you are talking about, which is fine we all like to learn about different subjects.....but to state your opinions on proven facts just makes you look a little bit silly.....if game dogs interest you go and do some research, and while you're there do some research on linebreeding ?
