My girlfriend has pair of budgies in a cage which in day time the door is left open .  The white hen budgie a  month ago ? it was tail flicking and breathing heavily /noisily that kind of subsided , other week I was there it tried doing a circuit of the front room crashed into coffee table then was walking round the floor try to pick it up it would weakly fly off .she managed to get it to climb onto a stick an she put it back in it’s cage .it didn’t fly after that and would climb out the cage onto the top where she has a stand for them . Other day she noticed they were quiet and only the cock bird there so looked an found the hen down the back of the cage and blood on its wing so checked  it over and put it in the cage since then it’s not come out but eats and drinks .Anyone experienced similar or any ideas ?

Could be numerous of things. Could be lacking some kind of supplement. Does she give the bird calcium cuttlefish an iron block. You've to be careful with white birds if the breeder has bred two white birds together Could be short sighted some are born blind. An line breeding can do this too. It's same with pied goldfinches that's why I put a none visual bird to a DF pied or SF pied to a none visual bird. If you don't get it right with white birds you can end up with complications mate.

Thanks I know she puts something  in the water , I’m sure I’ve seen cuttlefish in there ?
