TONIGHT I WAS COMING HOME WITH MY 6 YEAR OLD SON WHEN I HIT A HUGE POT-HOLE,RESULT BEING A KNAKERED FRONT WHEEL,TOTALLY FLAT,I HAD TO DRIVE ON A FURTHUR 2 MILES TO A PHONE BOX TO CALL THE AA,AND GUESS WHAT?!!! THEY DONT COVER PUNCTURES IF YOU DONT HAVE A SPARE WHEEL! SO WE WERE LEFT BY THEM STRANDED IN THE DARK AND RAIN,MY SON TERRIFIED!!!! WE EVENTUALLY MADE OUR WAY THE 7 MILES HOME ON FOOT. LAST MONTH I HAD ALL MY WINDOWS SMASHED IN MY CAR,I CALLED THE FOURTH EMERGENCY SERVICE,AND GUESS WHAT?!! THEY DONT COVER VANDALISM TO YOUR VEHICLE EVEN IF IT HAS BEEN RENDERED UNSAFE TO DRIVE! theobenmike 0
A couple of years ago the turbo went on my landrover travelling down the M6 near wigan. Loads of smoke and the engine running on its own oil wouldn't turn off, so put it into 5th and stalled it. Thought I'll phone the AA, after waiting about 45 mins for them to turn up they put it on the recovery truck, I thought sorted Apparently not after a few miles the driver says they will only go 10 miles off the motorway or to the nearest garage So after going 10 miles we pull up at a service station and I had to wait for a mate of mine to tow me the rest of the way (about 40 miles). If I knew this to start with I'd of just got my mate to tow me all the way home first as last, and saved a lot of time. So if you are a member (which I no longer am) check what you are covered for, not a lot it would seem Thank you very fu*#ing much AA
Guest manda
RAC are good we broke down in blackpool and west coast of scotland both different times, and they towed the cars both times to our home in durham, had to wait about 2 hours each time as they where performance cars and needed beaver tail trucks. tote 854
I've a mate that works for the AA and he'll agree with everything that's been said. They have made drastic cuts to their workforce which inturn means they have to make cuts in the quality of the service they provide. He is now travelling further from his base each day because of the shortage of staff, which obviously means a longer waiting time for everyone that breaks down.
moxy 617
I totally agree, Feckin useless!! , I had my cam belt snap which left me & wife stranded, phoned AA and told them what the problem was and requested that they come and recover us, The stupid feckers turned up over an hour later than they said, in a bloody transit van. They towed us back alright but i had to sit in the car and steer it home. I dont call that recovery. I could have got a mate to do that and it would have only cost me a pint not fifty quid a year. Was going to go for a pint or two whilst we waited for them, good job we didnt.
