YouTube.. and making money.

So how does it all work??

I'm seeing regular folk that do or are leaving their 9-5 jobs and making an income from their videos. Obviously.. it's all dependent on individual circumstances. Who controls the adds?? What do they get paid for comments.. subscribers.. notifications.. and what not? How does it all work?? Seems more and more folk are trying to earn a crust off it these days rather than doing a regular job!!

Not for me.. just curious!!

I think its the advertising and obviously the more subscribers you have the more they like you
This guy https://www.youtube.com/@FLAIR. has 2.6 million and his does some good duck shooting stuff and pretty sure at one point youtube demonistised him due to content killing stuff etc and I think he mentioned 6 figure sums being lost in a month. But seems to have money coming out of his ears. Nice chap but talks really fast which annoys me lol

You've already got the Moniker

Just think of all the Chinese tents, stoves, headlamps and lanterns etc that you'll be sent, you'll have to rent a warehouse to store it all, and employ that O J Simpson looking fella of yours as security

A mate does wild camping videos.....reckons he needs 70,000 subscribers to quit his job, don't know if that's right or not

Put a link up I'll give it a go..

I tend to just float around  youtube and don't really watch TV anymore

Doesn't seem much to me

But for the majority of YouTubers, the earnings are a lot more modest. As a benchmark, you can expect to make around $3 – $5 per 1,000 views (about £2.50 – £4.10 per 1,000 views, at the time of writing). This means that one million views equals $3,000 – $5,000... or between £2,500 – £4,100 to us British folk
