Guest basil46
There`s something about making your own pasties/pies. I use three different meats, normally vennison, rabbit and wood pigeon. For the veg it`s usually carrots, swede, turnips, fine beans, onion, leeks. The veg are cooked so that they still have a little crispness. The gravy is normally a mixture of the different gravies available. But the pastry is shop bought. You should try making your own, the possibilities are endless!! basil. During the winter usually have at least 2 pastie runs a week from my work! dont need any food for the rest of the day! But as for making them - I tried once and biggest disater ever so hats off to anyone who can make them!
