We are no longer in the EU ? Surely people from Anglophone countries such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, America have a closer heritage with the UK than, say , people from Albania, Romania , Lithuania, etc ? Cheers. Your post seems to say we should be more welcoming to Europeans that anyone else, my point, as I said, is there are first and second generation Brits in the likes of New Zealand and Australia, whose children still qualify for British citizenship far more the the vast majority of Europeans.
