The bit that nails it is is part about PERCEPTION brought about by years of the left wing press and Remainers blaming Brexit for everything and doing their utmost to undermine the result of a democratic vote. 6

NEWKID 27,089
There was always going to be some "pain" in the early years, I think everyone that voted to leave knew that but were prepared for it... what I didn't see coming was the absolute resistance and spoiling by both main parties, Boris for all his failings at least forced through the wish of the majority but its been a battle against our "own people" to move forwards...Covid stopped our economy for pretty much a year all told and thats why we are in the shit imo.. as Borr said, there is more work than anytime I can remember and at the best rates I can remember, but I'm sure this is the peak before a pretty big trough... the parties are as divided as we've ever known and spend all their time petty point scoring instead of some amount of cross party unity for the good of the country...that filters down and the division amongst us all grows every day, pick a side...there isn't a side worth picking...they should finally work for the people and deliver on promises but like the constant back and forth on here its all posturing and bullshit... 8

chartpolski 23,146
I think it’s extremely patronising to think that people choose one party and stick with it all their lives. Of course, especially up here, people say “ I vote Labour because me da did and so did me grandad so I will”, but people are a lot more politically savvy with the access to 24 hour news channels and the internet these days. Political parties change; the Labour Party was the party of the working class when I was younger, and voted for them for years, until they deserted us and became the party of immigration and identity politics. The Tory’s were right wing, the party of privilege and business, but I had to vote for them when Boris promised to get Brexit done and to keep the old traitorous, communist, terrorist supporting fool Corbyn away from number 10, but they are now a centre left party of high tax and immigration. The LibDems said they would simply ignore the votes of 17.4 million people and refuse to leave the EU if they ever got into power, so they could never get my vote. Ive voted for right of centre parties; UKIP and Brexit parties, and will probably vote Reform Party next time if they stand a candidate in my constituency, if not I’ll vote for an independent who’s views most align with mine. So, NO, we are not always Tory or Labour, red or blue. Some of us are not brainwashed and can think for themselves . Cheers.
