went out today with a mate to have a mooch about got to a place i know second hole we checked dog wanted in buzzing looking like were on sreight away put dog in didnt get far in and started grunting then could see dogs arse couldnt make out what it was doing thought it was a bit tight and was trying to dig on grabbed it by the tail pulled it out could see something in the tube let dog go again and it drew a dead but fresh vixen couldnt see anything obviously wrong with it so just let the younge dogs have a rag on it anyone else had anything like this happen when there out

same thing happened to me last week,i dug to my bitch ragging a dead fox,but it had been dead a few days,i think they must have been shot,wounded but able to make it to their bury before dying

culdnt see any obvious wounds off a bullit was thinking could of been hit by a car lukily dog drew it and didnt need to dig to it would of been pissed off if wed been digging for a couple of hours to a dead fox lol

i dug a dead fox on a little black dog last year the fox must of been dead for 2 weeks wasnt much left of it was hell of a smell when getting to the dog :sick:

over a good few years i've come across three foxes all sittin in the hole enterances all dead and i couldnt see any reason as in no wounds to see, fox in good nick not small or thin.two were at the same hole but four years apart.

happened to me a few years ago same thing broke down to a vixen dead put had been dead a few days as it never took long to dig and as stiff as a board also had a badly infected leg that looked like a gun shot the smell was rank :sick:
