Enough about Big Cats what about UFO`s

Recommended Posts

I know a lot of you lads don't believe but I know of three sights on this farm I was detecting on today. The farmer saw a big black cat twice and his daughter had one come over a hedge in a farm lane and land infront of her, it then sprang over the opposite hedge.

This was over 20 years ago now. There used to be a lot of sightings in the village two miles down the valley again about 20 years ago. Haven't heard of a sighting for a long time was a real hot spot at one time.

Well f**k my Mother, and give me a brother!..has to be a first for you?

To be absolutely honest, I'm sat here , tears running down my face, laughing out loud at what i'm reading ! I'd rather not join in and encourage the nonsense! "Gravity hasn't been proven " .

We'll never know. But there were rumours that contractors  engaged in the clean up after last year's Chelsea Flower Show found the remains of Alan Tichmarsh stashed in a tree . However this

Well that shows how little this Rick chap knows. Pumas do on occasion actively hunt and kill humans as has been shown several times in America.

Two incidents coming to mind are the puma that had lain in wait to ambush a high school athletic  as he circled a playing field and wasn't  at all keen to relinquish its kill when faced by armed police.

Another was the killing of a lad in Banff.  A mate was ice climbing in the area at the time and though the official line was that the chap was "mistaken for a deer" - yeh like pumas are short sighted-  the local consensus was that he was simply considered an easy dinner.

I don't think anyone would doubt that. I think people just doubt that there's a resident breeding population

Yes, we had a puma rumoured to be on the loose in our area back in the 70s.

On the balence of probability the reported sightings may well have been true for various reasons .

Who really knows what is ,has been and may  in the future be out there?

At the moment a sensible person can only go on probabilities.

The naysayers to a breeding population of big cats tend to err on the side of balance and conservatism in their opinions rather than rabid opposition(maybe FD excluded).

Whereas on the opposing side  there seems to be a cadre of folk on a crusade to persuade us that we are living in some sort of CrypoLongleat.

They are  quick to decry the sort of  hoaxers who lay fake trails and throw  the bits of deer that wouldn't  fit in the freezer into trees , as damaging to the search for truth.  Then these  Magical Thinkers churn out bad biology and terrible pictures which make a mockery of their own cause.

Anyway did l ever tell you about the UFOs that followed my brother's  van for ten miles?

Is your brother Jonathon MgGowan perchance?

Well that shows how little this Rick chap knows.

Rick Minter,Jonathon McGowan er al are experts on the breeding populations of big cats roaming the British countryside, however as there are actually no wild breeding leopard or mountain lion in the UK their knowledge amounts to the equate root of nada.

Just on my doorstep that mate. Nice camp site at Birchover that I've stayed on. Woods around there are full of Fallow. There seems to be a steady constant flow of big cat talk in Derbyshire.. and obvious it does interest me. I'm camping out up on Kinder Scout a week on Friday on me sen.  I wish I could persuade myself to buy a decent thermal set up and seen what's knocking about.

Enough about the cats. What you make of this. More of the same, or could these be still out there.

More of the same, there’s a Rick Minter thylacine guy,Thylacine expert, thylacine hunter or whatever title he gives himself called Neil Waters, announced to much fanfare he had pics of a thylacine family a couple of years back.Got the pics on a trail cam, this was it,undeniable proof, told the world press he was releasing the photos on a certain date,I remember watching a program and realising he was nutty as a fruitcake, anyway the day arrived and the pics went viral,he deflated like a popped balloon,he saw thylacines whereas zoologists and scientists saw pademelon wallabies.

He revealed the pics in 2021,obvious from the beginning he was going to fall flat on his face, thylacine were his raison detre,he lined up a zoologist to authenticate his snaps, when the guy ID’d the pics as wallaby the bottom fell out of Neil waters world,he quit his job to tiger hunt full time, there was only ever two possible outcomes.
